myJyotish is owned and operated by Jyotish Technologies LLC ("we," "us," "our," "Jyotish Technologies"). This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, store and protect information when you use the myJyotish mobile application and the myjyotish.app website (together, the "Service").
2. Information We Collect
Information you provide directly
- Account information: name, email address, and password (or sign-in credentials if using a third-party sign-in method).
- Birth chart (Janam Patri) information: name, date of birth, time of birth, and place of birth for yourself and any profiles you create (such as family members) for the purpose of generating Vedic astrology charts and readings.
- Payment information: when you purchase a plan, payment is processed by Apple App Store (iOS) or Google Play (Android). We do not store your payment card details, UPI credentials, or banking information on our servers. All payment processing is handled directly by Apple and Google.
Information collected automatically
- Device information (device type, operating system) for app functionality and crash reporting.
- Basic usage analytics (such as which features are used) to help us improve the Service.
3. How We Use Your Information
We use the information we collect to:
- Generate your Janam Patri, Nakshatra guidance, Kundli Milan compatibility reports, Dosha analysis, and Muhurta recommendations.
- Create and maintain your account and the profiles you add to it.
- Process payments and manage your subscription or one-time purchases.
- Send you service-related communications, such as confirmation of purchase or, if you opt in, periodic guidance notifications.
- Improve, maintain and troubleshoot the Service.
- Comply with legal obligations.
4. Birth Chart Data — Special Care
We understand that birth date, time and place of birth — for yourself and any family members or partners you add — is sensitive personal information. This data is used solely to perform astrological calculations within the Service. We do not sell this information to third parties, and we do not use it for advertising profiling.
5. How We Share Information
We do not sell your personal data. We share information only in the following limited circumstances:
- Apple and Google to process in-app purchases you initiate through the App Store or Google Play.
- Infrastructure providers (such as Firebase/Google Cloud) who store and process data on our behalf under contractual confidentiality obligations.
- Legal compliance — if required by law, regulation, legal process, or governmental request.
6. Data Storage and Security
Your account and profile data is stored using industry-standard cloud infrastructure (Firebase/Google Cloud) with encryption in transit. We take reasonable technical and organisational measures to protect your data, but no method of electronic storage or transmission is 100% secure.
7. Your Rights and Choices
- You may access, edit, or delete any profile you have created within the app at any time.
- You may delete your account by contacting us at the email below.
- If you are located in a region with specific data protection rights (such as the EU/UK under GDPR, or California under CCPA), you may have additional rights to access, correct, or request deletion of your personal data, and to object to or restrict certain processing.
8. Children's Privacy
The Service is not directed at children under 13 (or the relevant minimum age in your jurisdiction) as account holders. Parents and guardians may create birth chart profiles for their children within a parent's own account; we do not knowingly collect account registration information directly from children.
9. International Users
myJyotish is used by individuals across many countries, including the United States, Canada, United Kingdom, India, and others. By using the Service, you understand that your information may be transferred to and processed in countries other than your own, including the United States, where our infrastructure providers operate.
10. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will update the "Last updated" date above when changes are made. Continued use of the Service after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
